Dr. Andrew Ferris attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City for his DDS degree and received his certi:icate and masters of science in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at Loma Linda University. He owns three private practices in Santa Barbara, California.

Dr. Ferris has distinguished himself as a leader in the innovative use of both clear aligners and fixed appliances in first-phase, adolescent, and complex interdisciplinary treatment. He has lectured nationally and internationally on a variety of orthodontic topics including diagnosis, treatment, and practice management.

Dr. Ferris is a top 1% Invisalign Diamond Plus provider, a published author, and one of seven Master Invisalign faculty members in all of North America. He is also a faculty member in orthodontics at Loma Linda University. In addition to working in his practice and frequent lecturing, Dr. Ferris is director of Santa Barbara Dental Study Group, where he serves as an advisor on orthodontic diagnosis and treatment technique.

Dr. David Sarver received his DMD from The University of Alabama School of Dentistry and M.S. in Orthodontics from the University of North Carolina in 1979. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, a Fellow in both the International and American Colleges of Dentists and a Fellow in the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He has had the honor of presenting the Salzmann, Mershon, and Angle lectures at the AAO annual meeting, and in 2022 was the recipient of the Blair award from the AAOF. He has published 80 scientific articles and 20 book chapters.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Sarver’s book, „Esthetics in Orthodontics and Orthognathic Surgery” was published in September 1998. He is also co-author (with Drs. Proffit and White) of the surgical text “Contemporary Treatment of Dentofacial Deformity,” and is co-author of the 4th, 5th, and 6th editions of Proffit’s classic textbook “Contemporary Orthodontics”. His newest book “Dentofacial Esthetics: from Macro to Micro” was published in May 2020. He has given more than 400 professional presentations in the United States, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and East Asia.

Aż do minionej dekady uważano ortodoncję za działalność otoczoną nimbem niepojętych zdjęć cefalometrycznych i niekończącej się listy pomiarów! Tym razem nie o taki wykład chodzi! W stomatologii doszło do cyfrowych przeobrażeń obejmujących wszystko – od nakładek po indywidualizowane aparaty stałe. Wprawdzie sposoby leczenia pacjentów przeszły wielkie przeobrażenia, jednak powody ich leczenia pozostają niezmienne. Dlatego zaczynamy od diagnozy, a dopiero później wybieramy metodologię terapii.

Ortodoncja musi przechodzić zmiany w tempie dorównującym zmianom w stomatologii oraz pozostawać na bieżąco ze sposobami planowania przypadków przez stomatologów. Interakcja pomiędzy nimi to ważny element składowy najlepszej opieki zespołowej. Niniejszy wykład omówi współczesne sposoby konstruowania uśmiechu w powiązaniu z rysami twarzy dążące do „dopasowania uśmiechu do twarzy”. Treść wykładu pomoże uczestnikom w przejściu od wyników dobrych do doskonałych.

Until the last decade, orthodontics has been perceived as an endeavor wrapped in the inscrutability of cephalometric x-rays and all those measurements! This will NOT be that lecture! Dentistry has undergone a digital transformation from aligners to custom fixed appliances. While there has been a sea change in how we treat patients, what has not changed is why we treat patients. This means diagnosis comes first, followed by the treatment methodology.

The orthodontic profession must change in stride with all the changes that have occurred in dentistry and remain in lockstep with how dentists plan their cases. The interaction of the two is very important for excellent collaborative care, and this presentation will address contemporary smile design coupled with facial characteristics to “fit the smile into the face.” This presentation will be designed to elevate your good results to great results.
